Warriors Dynasty

I haven’t been able to write because I’ve been preoccupied with other things lately, namely iKON and Golden State Warriors. Allow me to post sports fandom because I don’t have other places to post besides twitter hehe.

I came back from their fandoms once again and after the last performance of iKON, my focus then shifted to the NBA Playoffs. The Warriors are once again in the Playoffs and playing very well against some tough teams: Denver Nuggets, Memphis Grizzlies and Dallas Mavericks.

What strikes me on their playoff run is that basketball analyst didn’t believe in the Warriors and thought their team is over after all the injuries and whatsoever. It is really weird how basketball analysts just say anything they want now just for the views or whatever. That is why my favorite postgame show will always be ‘Inside the NBA’ because they are clear with their basketball takes and they don’t say anything that is just for clickbait. You may disagree or agree to their opinions or take it with a grain of salt. It is just that they will say what they think happen or what the team needed when they saw the game.

Well, all in all I think this championship is the most surprising for the Warriors team. Last year during pre-season I thought about how they are doing well and they can make the playoffs for the season but I didn’t imagine that they can win it all. Seeing how they perform in the playoffs, I saw and believe that they really can they just have to stay healthy and stick to the game plan. Like how they say after the Finals, they just do it like they are supposed to and just play the game like they all have. Besides, they don’t have any pressure since no one really thought they can make through the Playoffs or the Finals 😄.

Also, what I like about this Warriors team is that they are all trying to prove themselves in the league: Steph with all the criticism of not having the FMVP, Dray on not being as good as before, Klay coming out of injury, Wiggs proving that he is capable of being in a championship team and so on. They all have the same goal in getting better and winning the championship. The joy that I have all like when watching them is back! And Steph is their leader for it. Their team is amazing this season and I hope next season it will stay intact.

So.. what are they gonna say about now? LOL.

Thank you for letting me rant. I’m just too happy for the Warriors 🙂

GSW: Observation in the last 3 games

After the Warriors loss to the Cavs they notice their mistakes and with that saw what they should do to correct it and it seems like these past two games of theirs they are slowly correcting themselves in their crunch time offense and create more roles to their roster.

Before writers/reporters point out that Stephen is not that involved in the play they are utilizing since Kevin Durant joined them but now it seems like Steve Kerr finally let Steph join the party since he became more involved in the playmaking and have more assists than his earlier games. I like it much better when Steph does what he’s been doing before Durant arrives and I think Kevin also wants Steph to be more involved and be explosive just like what he does last year. I think Kevin Durant wants Steph to do that because that is the reason why he joined the team, when Steph does the ridiculous things in basketball.

I also want to see the explosive Steph Curry because I’ve just become  a fan of the Warriors last year playoffs when they became so crazy and ridiculous in playing basketball (I admit I’m a bandwagon because I’m just a recent fan). I want to see how Steph is so hard to guard and you have to be on alert whenever he has the ball especially if cross half-court. I also want to see his ridiculous passes and how he makes his amazing assists to his teammates. He is a very different point guard and I want to see the magic he brings that makes him 2x MVP. I really think it’s only a matter of time or by the time playoffs will start Steph will unleash his explosive offensive skills. I really hope he will do that.

For now, I will settle in watching him get in rhythm to prepare for the playoffs where the real show begins.

NOTE: I am not a basketball writer so this opinions are just mine for what I read. Read at your own risk. Oh and Happy 2017! May 2017 be great to all of us!

GSW: Thoughts vs Cavs ‘Christmas Day’

It’s been two days since the match but I still want to write something about the recent finals match up of two championship teams. It is no wonder a lot of people are suggesting that these two teams will have a finals rematch this season 2016-2017 because these two teams play at a very high level that other teams are still trying to catch up. It happened in their recent match that the game became so intense that you will wonder if it’s playoffs already. There are still some mistakes on both teams since it is still in the regular season but the rivalry in both teams make the game so intense and gives justice to the Christmas day match. A lot of people have been saying that because these teams are automatic finals contenders that makes them bad for the league but seeing the ratings or how people respond on their Christmas day match up, how is this bad for the league exactly? Cavs vs Warriors rivalry makes the NBA interesting if you ask me and those people who don’t like sports will watch too because of their intense rivalry that makes them on par with other NBA rivalry teams in my opinion.

I just want to criticize the Warriors a little bit. I didn’t get to watch the full game since my timezone is different and I’m living in the Philippines. I still read a lot of reports on how the Warriors blew their 14 point lead though (which for some cavs fans is funny and thinks it’s for trash talk) and still couldn’t quite understand why Steph Curry isn’t playing like he does last season. It’s disappointing for them to give their 14 point lead to the Cavs, to not defend and just give careless passes. There are some plays that are a little bit positive but the turnovers is what the Cavs made them pay. Unfortunate how they make careless decision making on the 4th quarter of the game. I have also seen reports that Steph’s still making Durant feel comfortable in his position and that gives him lower shot makes which makes him lose his rhythm and focus. I still think that they need Steph to win even though they have an open man if Steph has his rhythm he can be explosive and dangerous to the other teams. If only Steph and Steve Kerr will let him do it again just like what he did last year their team will be even more unguardable and will make them the super team the other teams feared.

It is still December and half-way to regular season games so there are still time to develop and it is only one game they still have their NBA best regular season win-lose record. I still hope they develop better and minimize the turnovers they make and be really comfortable with each other.

I can’t wait for another Cavs-Warriors match-up. I hope this time the teams will play in a very high level and a great officiating for the refs. Also, the season really start in the playoffs right still enough time for the teams to practice and develop.

GSW: Thoughts vs the Bucks – GS124-MIL121

I realized I want to write something for this blog and decided I’ll just write every game that is interesting  for me about the Warriors. I will put some insights and analysis of other writers that I read on. Reminder, I’m not a super basketball fan or a really credible basketball writer with lots of knowledge but I’m just a casual basketball fan who watch and will say their opinions base on the game and analysis of other basketball junkies. Basically, I just write for fun!

Anyway, they have their first close game of the season and it is with the Milwaukee Bucks, the same team that gave them their first loss of the season last year.

I will write my opinions/analysis (wow!) in bullet form to properly read it:

  • I never really mind if they lost or not but I want to see the improvement in their game especially in their defence. Just like before their defence is not seen in the 1st quarter and will come in 2nd or 3rd but in the 4th their defence will vanish again.
  • This is basically the reason why the Bucks got the chance to have a close game and they really did their best and they’re good at penetrating the trashy defence the Warriors have.
  • When they have bad defence it also affects their offense. Just like the game earlier, they can’t connect their shooting because they’re distracted and create more turnovers than shooting it properly or having good decisions.
  • Luckily, they wake up in their defence and the Bucks can’t also connect their shots. Even though their shots can’t also connect their defence became good especially Draymond Green who realize that they need to focus if they want to win.

So basically, the whole point of this is they really need to work on their defence not only on the 2nd or 3rd quarter but the whole game. Maybe this will really take a long time but slowly they can work on it if they just get their focus in their game.

Welp. That’s all!

GSW Diary: Entertainment

Before I start rambling about the game that I saw last night, I just want to take note that I will make this kind of blogs not only for the Golden State Warriors but also for the other sports teams that I support or anime that I support. I just want to share some insights or write something that I like. I’m still going to post reviews if I will watch any movies or updates for my Arashi fandom for now I’m going to write this things. Now for the real blog:

Never expected to watch a game that will set an NBA record or that can make it a history. Well, I guess the Pelicans or the Warriors didn’t even know a record will be broken by non-other than the hailed “greatest shooter” in the NBA Stephen Curry.

If you watch Stephen Curry you will always feel entertained. That’s what happened to me. I have never have interest in watching basketball before because I don’t get it. I didn’t feel the excitement or the entertainment that they give. I’ve watched Dwyane Wade and the Miami Heat before because my dad likes DWade but I never saw what he saw on DWade before but now I get it. I saw what entertainment basketball brings and I saw that on Stephen Curry.

I saw that last night when he broke the record of most 3 pointers in a game by 13 shots. I saw why he is very exciting to watch and you can feel that he genuinely loves to play basketball. Same for the other guys in the Warriors squad.

There are still some problems in their game because by half-time they are leading the game by 21 points but in 3rd quarter they are only leading for 4 or 6 points. There are still problems in communication in defense that also affects their offense. It’s a good thing that Steph goes hot and fires a lot of threes and just shoot the ball but they still really need to work on their game. It may take some time but I’m really looking forward to the day they finally figure out how to play well together. The other teams will be in so much trouble.

Just for now I’ll just watch how entertaining the Warriors and Steph Curry can be when playing.

Sports Festa!

Recently I got addicted into sports. My dad really like watching sports channel as like other dads do. I have zero interest in sports. I’m like other fans of bandwagons NBA. Casually watching basketball only in playoffs time or finals time. Rude right?  I’m interested in one sport before. I like watching football/soccer unfortunately there are no available football channels for my favorite team (FC Barcelona) so I lost interest. Now my interest in sports started once again but it became an addiction. Just like how I’m addicted to anime or jpop groups/Arashi. I started liking it by just casually watching this year’s playoffs.

My dad has been a fan of Golden State Warriors and he told me he became a fan since the Splash brothers. So I casually watched basketball once again to see this Splash brothers he’s been talking about. In the end I like how the Warriors played. I became a fan. Call me a bandwagon I don’t care, I got attracted how fun and enjoyable they played. That’s why when they lost the championship this year I got so sad hahaha but they’re injured and I know they’ll make a great comeback next year (since KD is now with the Warriors bwahahaha)

My interest in sports extended to baseball and my dad’s baseball team is the Warriors bay area neighbor: San Francisco Giants. My sister is already into baseball unlike me so when I have questions about baseball I always just asked her. I understand now why my dad likes baseball so much. He likes baseball more than basketball and now I understand how difficult to play baseball. Baseball is draggy and long to watch but it’s still enjoyable especially if there are great plays and the pitcher is having a great night.

And my favorite sports until now is still football. Even though in our cable channel there are no football for FC Barcelona, I still like it. I can watch the highlights in YouTube after all. Lionel Messi for me just like any other football fans there is the greatest athlete ever. He is one of the most popular people and I know if I went to Europe or America and I yell Messi I know they will recognize him.

I understand now why my dad really likes watching sports, its enjoyable to watch and takes the drama (well I know sometimes sports have drama but minimal) out of teledrama or television shows that are being played here in my country. Sports is universal and have a lot more entertaining things than celebrities does which is sometimes just about popularity and whatsoever.

Didn’t realize I’ll make this post so long but I have writing it. Watch out for more Sports post!
